Just wanted an opinion on people with more experience than I do with audio. Was just wondering if this setup would work well and sound good. Going into an 02' ext. cab.

-Kicker KS 4x6 and Kicker KS 6.5in speakers
-Infinity Kappa Five Amplifier
-Older Rockford Fosgate 8in sub (not sure which model), in an Obcon ported box
-Kenwood Excelon DDX396

The sub is one my dad had, speakers are currently installed, and I already have the amp. Mainly wondering about the H/U since I haven't bought it yet, but overall opinions about the system would be helpful.

Just wanted an opinion
im into car audio, and honeslty id get all new stuff. There are for newer subs, amps, drivers that will out perform nearly everything youve listed (the kickers are nice, but id never run a 4x6 or any odd shaped driver)

look up PRV (Home ) they have great drivers for cheap.

Welp this thread is old but I’ll update it with what I did.

-Kenwood XDC h/u
-CT Sounds 3-way 6.5in component speaker set, midrange and tweeter mounted in factory dash location
-2 12in DC Audio Level 2’s in a 2.5 cubic foot ported box, tuned at 32 hz
-DC Audio 1.2k for the subs, and a JL 400/4 for the mids and highs
-Sound deadening on the floor, and some on the doors and back wall

I have yet to meter this, but it’s loud enough to vibrate the roof pretty hard, I’ll need some sound deadening up there soon. Of course I have ideas to get louder, but I’m gonna start focusing on the suspension of the truck for the time being.

Agree w/bk2life wrt using new components if possible. I have a severely limiting budget and still managed to purchase all new.....

Yeah, loved the DC’s so far but CT makes some more affordable options that would be able to take more power.

Heres the box for reference, I don’t have much left in terms of a back seat

Are you going for max audiophile sound quality or max dB sound level ?

Honestly a little of both, when it comes to bass I can’t notice the sound quality to an extent, hence why I’m willing to sacrifice there for db gains.

My ears aren’t nearly good enough for max audiophile, so the CT sounds speakers have been great for me.
