I've tried searching the forums and haven't found an answer for this. The third brake light on my 94 S-10 stopped working (all other lights work). The bulbs are fine. I tested them, they light up nice and bright. Does anyone know what I should try to do next?

The other thing I noticed (I think it's related) was that when I put my hazards on AND stepped on the brakes, the lights stop blinking and remain solid until I let go of the brake, which is how I discovered the problem in the first place.

Any help would be appreciated.

yeah, that's how it's supposed to be cuz you're on the brakes. say you're driving with the hazards on at night cuz the roads are icy or whatever, and you hit the brakes to slow down a lil bit, well, if you're hazards just kept flashing and the brake lights didn't stay on, the guy behind you wouldn't know you were slowing down and hit you......................

i thought that was part of the purpose of the 3rd brake light, but it wouldn't be the first time i'm wrong.

regardless, my problem remains... the 3rd brake light won't go on at all.

Fuse, relay, ground, or wire I guess.

Check fuses and relays first, as that's a hell of a lot simpler.

Fuses on a 2000. Yours may (probably will) differ:

VEH CHMSL (underhood)
STOP LP FUSE (underhood)
High Mount Stop Lamp Relay (underhood)
