a 3,000 PSI 80cu ft. scuba tank holds 5 gal of air at 3,000PSI
a 3,000 PSI 220 cu. ft. nitro bottle holds 15 gal of air at 3,000PSI

Hope that helps you calculate fill times. ;)

below is an example,

to get to your tank size,

start pressure * tank volume = new pressure * truck tank size
3,000PSI * (scuba) 5 gal = X * 12 gal (my tank sixe)

15000 /12 = X



X 1250

so 1250PSI at 12 gal

above broken down is 1250 PSI at 12 gal (for a scuba tank)
all you do if volume is the same is subtract the PSI make sense?
so if you want to fill a 12 gal tank from 110-145 that is 35 PSI of fill
so take 1250/ 35 = 35.71 filles before the tank is empty.
or 8 fills from 0~145

Nitro 220 cu ft.
3750 PSI 12 gal tank
110-145 107 fills ;) on 12 gal system tank.

are you assuming the scuba tank is filled with compressed air or oxygen? The guys at the local scuba shop can fill mine with a variety of gasses, each i'm sure compress differently. Which gas compresses the best?

oh man i would not use pure oxy :eek:

but that is the actual size in gal of the metal tank.

and the math was done for normal air.

Oxygen was not a consideration for me due to fire hazards and cost but its common to fill scuba tanks with oxygen or 'nitrox'. Standard compressed air was the cheapest anyways, but would pure nitrogen compress better?

the rate they compress the difference is so small in this case you can neglect it :)

You will need to fill it frozena nd KEEP it frozen or you will have some problems lol

We met before in the past on this forum about my retarded ass getting the air management kit from ART with the 3gal tank. Anyway, to combat my problem, I added 2 scuba tanks rather than adding a larger air tank and more compressors.


I did the math with 2 scuba tanks and a 3gal air tank:

(2) 80cf scubas (5gal) @ 3000 psi = 3000 X 10 = 30,000

30,000 / 3 = 10,000

10,000 @ 3gal. (Fill 35psi) = 10,000 / 35 = 285.71 fills of my 3gal air tank with (2) 80cf Scubas

Correct?

Ok, Now DJDAudio, How can I calculate the number of lifts I can get with the scubas? The front has 2600 and the rear has the F9000 bags. The truck is a regular cab S10 with the 4cylinder engine. I'm new to bagging so I guess from what I hear, 60psi in each front bag lifts it to a working drive hieght. How do i calculate volume of the bag and its depletion of the 3gal tank?

We have already figured that the 2 scubas will fill the 3 gal tank 285 some-od times and I think through past conversations, the 3 gal tank would be depleted to 110psi, 1 1/2 times to lift the front to ride hieght. I'm not sure about the rear.

Can you help calculate this one? Might give me3 a better idea of consumption on the scubas.

I'm guessing here but, I imagine that if it took the front 1 1/2 fills of the 3gal tank to fully lift the front, and 2 fills of the rear to fully lift the rear, = 3.5 fills for full lift of the whole truck, then:

285.71 fills of the 3gal tank w/ 2 scubas / 3.5 fills for ful truck lift = 81.63 full pancake lifts before the scubas are empty and the comp kick on.

Sound right?
