Actually, I used PPG acrylic enamel for this one. With the super shine additive.
GM code 11 white.
I had to mud it on to keep the nasty orange peel away.
It was pretty hot yesterday, so I wanted to be sure the paint "flowed" out properly.
Over a large area like a bed side, sometimes Rustomagic will leave dry spots in hot weather...
I'm going to try and do the other side today.
It's pretty bush when you don't have a proper facility to paint...
I guess it's better than a hotel parking lot or Walmart lot - Harley (!!)

The weirdest part - I remember going to all sorts of work to make sure that dust wasn't an issue.
Like using a spray booth, wet the floor and surrounding area, blow out all of the cracks and undercarriage, tack rag etc.
Now? Outdoor "spray booth" - cars, trucks and buses going buy, dirt parking lot and (who cares?) go for it.
No dust, paint flows excellent and the results are - well, you can see.
The paint looks as good up close as in the pix.

Been waiting for cooler weather - like where the hell is winter anyway?
It's been in the mid eighties here. :(

Wheel Tire Car Land vehicle Vehicle

I painted this door with Rustoleum! It looks as good as the PPG acrylic enamel...
The shadows are sort of funky, but the door lines up properly.
Scary how close the color match is.

Done.
I replaced the exterior door handle, the complete window track and weather strip.
I also added a chrome "elephant ear" mirror.
The truck has electric windows. I installed new widow guides on the glass, the window goes up/down perfectly.

Picked this door panel from a JY truck. I bagged the other side too.
Of course, the arm rests were whipped. I'll have to source new ones or used if possible.
Sadly, there are very few first gen S10/S15s in the Upull yards. Not many left.

Hope to paint the outer tailgate today.
Painted passenger bedside yesterday and will post pix shortly
Wait for the shop lift to open up so I can hopefully drill out the broken starter bolts
Always something ☹

Next clip for this project:
Motor vehicle Automotive exterior Gas Auto part Wire

I installed an Edelbbrock Performer intake manifold and a 32/36 Weber carb.
I decommissioned the entire TBI system since it was non functional.
I have a temporary fuel supply system connected (electric pump and 1 gallon tub) but am going to use the stock fuel system with a bypass of some type to reduce the pressure of the stock pump.
Once I design and complete the bypass, I'll give a description and pix of it.
Hit the gas pedal twice (cold engine), and the engine fires instantly and idles.
I ordered a new air filter, I'll post pix when I install it.
I also sourced an early vacuum advance distributor from an 85 S10 2.8 V6. It's non computer controlled.

I may have mentioned that I eliminated the AIR pump. It was non functional.
For those of you want to do the same, here is the belt required for a 2.8 V6:

The AIR pump was in the lower left side of this pic, just above the idler arm.

You should be receiving a salary as a brand representative for Weber at this point… I should probably get one for the slant in my Dog , the ol’ Carter ain’t to keen to do carburetor stuff. Good job on the paint, she’s coming right back around!

^^^ Only reason I install so many Webers... They work!

I have several stockpiled in storage. When I need one, I buy the adapter plate and off we go.

There are a lot of carb options for a "Tower of Power" :p
A Weber is always a good option though.

I'll be putting a nice carpet in the cab with sound killer insulation shortly.

The stock radio is beat, one channel is gone
I've found a "mechless" radio which is only a radio with no cassette or CD player.
The chassis is very shallow, so it doesn't stick out of the dash like a full chassis radio.
I'll post pix of that too.

I guess you could say that I'm shining a sneaker....

Wheel Automotive tire Hubcap Automotive design Alloy wheel

Tuner lugz baby...
The original lugs were mismatched and totally bombed.
These were inexpensive and deters thieves, although who wants these Old Skool POS wheels?
At least they are all matched and loo a sh*t ton better than the others.

I forgot that I had installed drilled/slotted rotors in the past.

Just noticed the new tail lights, getting menace to society vibes, and with the wheels and lug nuts, the old big tires in the back setup. A real hoodlumobile, only missing the Calvin peeing on a ford oval decal.
That being said I’m interested in this radio ya got, does it have a USB or Aux input?

You'll want a pair of these once you find a replacement set of armrests.

I might have bought out all of GM's old stock of armrests last year, but it was only brown, red, and blue left.

Alex... I'll post better pix of the vacuum set up shortly.

MWIP - The radio has RCAs out, USB input and AUX input. I have 2 S10s with the radio installed.
Here's an example:

Here's another with dimensions...

I pulled out a CD radio in one of my trux and installed a "Mechless" radio. It sits flush with the dash. Looks much better.
