Everything you'd ever want to know about cooling systems. Probably more than most folks want to know.
This winter when it's -20° around here I think I'll read it all.
I hear it's raining in AZ?
40 years ago I jumped out of an airplane over AZ and landed in a big wash out in the desert north of Casa Grande. I clearly remember thinking at the time, "This is not where I'd want to be when it rains." When those fill up it must be an awesome sight.

That's where we moved to. It's going to take a bit to acclimate to the heat, but we like it. The thunder and lightning is spectacular. We got a lot of rain last night along with the flash flood warnings. We don't have to worry about it in our location though.

So much water drops in such a short amount of time the earth literally cant do anything with it.
23 electrical poles fell last night taking out a whole power grid.
The freeways collect so much rain water they turn into 8 foot deep pools.
The, the desert areas the flash floods are truly awesome to see. You can be out shooting or 4 wheeling, and out of nowhere a 30 foot wide river will engulf the area and block off most of the trials out. The micro airbursts tear shingles off roofs, destroy trees, fences etc.
All this happens in about 30 mins of 'activity'.
Like RHOT said, the lightening and thunderstorms are some of the best you'll ever see.

No one has yet survived being caught in sudden desert gully wash you describe.

Is this a whole series? Got any links? Don't know if I'll live long enough to read them all if there is a series, but would be great reference material.
