Hey guys!
Just bought a NOS 8-Track player to install in my '95 S-10. Stock unit, no rewiring yet. Hot wire, ground, hanging, all that shouldn't be too difficult, but speaker connection?

The 8-track is only a 2 channel system, so I'm looking for opinions on:

Should I just splice in to like the 2 door speakers? 2 dash speakers?

Ideas are appreciated.

Thx! View attachment 360905

If your really into old school 8 track players just for show apparently cause they sounded awfull, I have a pair of tenna Mindblower 6x9s from the late 70s I never took out of the box!If you're interested let me know.I will even throw in about 40 8tracks I still have laying around.

Hmmm, I'll have to disagree with you on that one. My David Gilmour Live in Gdansk box set sounds pretty f'ing amazing.

People still listen to records. Guess what, they sound like crap too. I don't give a damn how nice the turntable is. So yeah, it's not always about sound quality.
Walmart sells both the records and the players. They even sell the crates for the records. We have one or two music stores here that sell it all from 8 track to cds. They even have the old school stereos too. It's not always about sound it's more about the memories they made for someone. I have most of my dads and he passed away a few years ago so it's cool to listen to what he would have. But I do have newer records of my own too.

I found a new in the box 8 track player at an antique store. I'm going to put it in my 70 Maverick I'm restoring. That was the first car I owned. Drove it in high school and beyond. I bought this one a few years ago. One owner bought at Little Rock Ford in Arkansas. The guy I bought it from found it at an estate sale. He cleaned the gas tank and did a tune up. He also put new tires on it. I drove it home 680 miles back to Atlanta. I have bought a new record player to play all my old albums on. Great memories of a simpler time. I do need the wiring plug that goes into the back of the 8 track. Sorry for getting a little off track there. Yeah wire it to the one speaker on the dash like the good old days. The Maverick still had an AM radio with an FM converter. Remember those?

FIrst - check out this 8-track resource, if you're on FB:

Folks there might be able to help you find the plug/wiring you need.

I had a '76 Maverick for a few years. 302 motor with a three speed tranny. Mine was a POS that I literally shot, with my .45 to give it more personality. Ah - those were the days.
