I’m pretty new to these s10’s. I’ve got an 88 2.5L and I’ve searched the forums about the two different temp sensors and where they’re located and I’ve just gotten myself more confused. I’ve already replaced the sensor in the thermostat housing. My questions are where is the other sensor and is it the same sensor. I’ve heard it was in the block under the intake manifold and on the drivers side in the block under the exhaust manifold but I can’t seem to find it. Maybe I’m just stupid. I keep getting the light saying it’s running hot although I’m certain it’s not. Just want to replace the sensor so I don’t have to look at the light anymore. If anyone knows and maybe has a picture showing where it’s at if they have a motor pulled out or whatever it would be greatly appreciated.

The one on the thermostat is a sensor (not a sending unit) for the computer. The sending unit for the light or gauge is on the back of the head. Be sure you get a sender for a light if that's what you have or a gauge sender if you have a gauge. They are different.
The one you described on the block under the intake is an oil pressure sender.
