I recently put a 5.7l in my 87 s10. THE wiring harness is from the 4.3 as well as the tbi unit. it runs fine, and with the g80-gt4 rear-end, and the 700r trans its pretty quick. Now would i get more power if i were to get a tbi off a 5.7l, or are they both the same units?

from what i hear they are the same except the 5.7 injectors are bigger

May I ask why?
You are starving that engine for fuel, I bet she is running lean, the flow rate on 4.3 injectors is not that of the 5.7 injectors.

get a big block base(larger butterflies) and run a 5.7 injector pod

You are starving that engine for fuel, I bet she is running lean, the flow rate on 4.3 injectors is not that of the 5.7 injectors.
It wasn't that I had a choice. I got the engine w/o a tbi unit, only the intake. I had a 4.3 tbi laying around so i used it.

I would be searching out atleast the 5.7 injectors.

ALL GM TBI units that were 2 barrel (2.5l was a 1bbl. 2.8, 4.3, 305, 350, 454 were 2bbl) have the same bolt pattern and the same body. Things that were different were the bore sizes and injectors. The 2.8L has a 1 3/8" bore, 4.3, 305, 350 have a 1 11/16" bore and the 454 has a 2" bore. Each engine has a different injector that flow a different volume but all fit the same and are interchangeable.

Working, gathering parts for a SFA and v8 swap and got tired of all the drama over here so I been lurking.

Unless you bore the intake out to match the 2 inch bore of the 454 TB its pointless to put it on.
