I recently installed a tach in my truck and ever since the service engine soon has been on. Has anybody had similar problems??

Have you tried unhooking it??? if you did, did it go off? Just an idea, but I plan on installing a tach soon too, so I hope it isn't a common prob, but I would like to know what the prob is too.
