My 5-speed '93 Sonoma has 99k on it. I'm going to change the transmission fluid in it and I'm supposed to put automatic tranmission fluid in it. I don't think it's ever been changed. I've been running Syntec in my engine since I bought the truck last October (with 79k then) and I haven't had any problems. I was thinking of going with sythetic with the trans, but I've heard things about putting in synthetics in place of conventionals-horror stories about leaks and such. Is there any need to worry and really is it even worth it to pay the extra for synthetic... I've heard it makes your trans noisier.
ALSO if and when I put a Zexel in, which is better to go with, synthetic or conventional.
Thanks...

I've been running synth in all those places for 5 yrs haven't had any problems .my trani has 105k on it street driven in NYC doing a re-buils next week. I would have a reputable trans guy give it the once over just to make sure everything is OK .my$.02
