Hey guys! I have a wrecked 98 2.2 reg cab with 3.73s and a 95 4.3 Sonoma ext cab with 3.08s. I would like to swap rear ends especially since the 98 has 30,000 less miles and isn't leaking from the pumpkin seal. This is a direct swap right? I know that the hub had slightly different clearances between the 94-97 and 98+, but will that be a problem? Will it give me horrible gas mileage on the highway? As of right now I run 3500 rpms at 95 mph.

i believe it is a direct swap. and no, running 3.73's on the highway wont give you horrible gas mileage. i got about 12-14 mpg with my ZR2, mudders, and 3.73s. on a stock truck, the gearing wont make much of a difference, gas-mileage wise, altho i do believe you have to get your speedo recailbrated, due to the gear change.
