I have installed a 350 in my S10 purchased Headman headers, 350 trans with 168 tooth flex plate. I could not install the headers because I needed special mounts. I have ordered from Jegs motor mount part number 500-69490 . Now I need mount pad(s) gm # 22188497. Do I need one or two of these mounts. Originally I had a 350 in it but with shorty headers. The shortly headers do not fit now because I'm using angle plug heads. Can you please tell me if I need one or two mounts. If I had known the angle plugs wouldn't work with the shorty headers I would have never change the plug location. help!

Hi guys
Have 92 GMC Sonoma, want to put small V8 FI obviously with AT tranny in.
Question
Is there any new transmission that has no electronic controls..
Considering the old Powerglide..
Will probably get brand new engine, straight from GM hi performance,
,do they all use computer controls?
And if I need ECM do you have any idea about its approximate cost,
don't wanna get ripped off ,overcharged too much
:p
Will make a custom body to make everything fit easily

Thanks

Update on my project

Took the whole truck apart, scrapped the bed, fenders, pulled the engine and tranny, removed crossmember..
Installed Beltech 3" lowering springs in the back.
Relocated gas tank to the rear.
Moved the cabin farther back cut the floor around the frame and dropped it 5" from the ground..
Since I have no garage I'm doing this outside my house,so had to built a carport roof from pressure treated lumber and corrugated plastic to keep out of the rain and sun..
It's not quite long enough so bought one of those metal frame tents with tarp to be comfy,,well until winter comes!!
Would post pics to make it more interesting but have no idea how to do that, will try to figure it when I have more time..
Now I moved the engine and tranny back in cut the floor out and trying to figure how to fab engine and tranny crossmembers for a V 8 motor to make sure the whole drivetrain is aligned properly, since the engine sits about a foot farther back which was my intention right from the start to have best possible balance and handling..
Later doodz
Btw
I found out that gizmo in my avatar is on the transmission to control vibration,it's just a chunk of weight so not sure how that's supposed to work..

Hey guys sure this has been answered but i have a 94 first gen s10 blazer that had the 4.3 vortec i went 350 carbed with original trans but it doesn't seem like its shifting through the gears properly. I believe it is a 4l60e will this trans not work with the carbed motor if i left the computer and all plugged up? The trans had just been rebuilt before the motor blew so was trying to save it if at all possible.

Okay, this is the thread I want. However, seeing as I have AADD(adult attention deficit disorder), which my parents and wives called lazy for short, I gave up after reading a page and a half.
I'm putting a 350 w/700R4 out of an '86 suburban into a '95 S10 pickup, 2.2L std. I'm after a clean job. When I raise the hood I want it to look like a factory install. Not real fond of the R134A compressor on the '86, and it wouldn't look right in the '95, so what do I need to make the A/C and cruise control work and look right? Brackets from a 4.3 S10? I wanted fuel injection, but I got the donor car for $400 and it doesn't need anything(other than a new body-wrecked), so I'm going carburetor.
Is my oil pan gonna work? Are headers a must or can cast iron manifolds be made to work?
If these questions have been answered, please direct me to that post.
Thank you very kindly.

Please spell-check this 13-year-old post. "ECT" is not word.
Wow someone registered just to correct a common misspelling of "etc." I didn't know our forum had retro-active spell check lol

BigDaddyhof - can't help you directly on that one, but if you look for threads on 2.2 swaps there are different things they do than the 4.3 guys. A lot of people have had the same questions you'll probably come up with. Another place I look frequently is the member projects subforum, you'll find a 2.2 or a 305 or a 94, same fuel delivery, etc.

I'm sure it's been gone over a-zillion times, but can anyone point me in the right direction?

I have a 1992 Sonoma 4.3 Vortec 4x4

Donor is a 1995 Sierra 1500 350tbi 2wd

Can I upgrade my Sonoma with some parts off this truck? (The Sierra has frame rot) it runs great. And unfortunately my 4.3 is near it's end :(

I would like to swap the V8 and 4L60E if possible.

Hi, so I'm fairly new to this site as a member but I have been browsing for a few months in preparation for the project I want to start. I'm sorry if these questions have already been answered but I haven't found it. I have a 1994 S10. It is a RWD, with the 2.2 engine and the Borg Warner T5 5 speed transmission. I want to turn it into a street truck that looks like a show truck. I want to do a 383 swap. I'm looking at a 70s model 350 with a carburetor instead of fuel injection to stroke. I have already figured out the situation with the oil pan, the pickup, the headers, the clutch, I know to use electric fans instead of a clutch fan, and I think I have figured out how I'm going to deal with the fuel pump. My questions are:

1: How much of the wiring harness and computer do I need to keep, if any?
2: Do I need to modify or switch out the hood for the air cleaner to have clearance?
3: For the radiator, what is a good make and model to go with, for minimal fabrication or modifications?
4: Is there a way to use my transmission on the 350 block? I know the bellhousing won't be a direct fit but is there a different bellhousing or some kind of adapter plate I can use?
5: What is a good rear end and driveshaft to use to hold the power and with it being a RWD how in the world do I increase the traction so I can actually get it moving and not just sit still burning my tires away?

Any help or advice at all will be greatly appreciated.

I've heard mixed things about computer and harness swapping and I would like a straight answer before I jump into a project over my head. I have plans of putting a 305 from a 1990 gmc 4x2 into a 1995 sblazer 4x4. I have both vehicles sitting complete side by side. What and where should I start? I have been told the computer is a straight plug in and I have been told that it is a computer and harness swap.....Any and all help would be appreciated

So straight 4.3 tbi to 350 tbi is a straight swap with the added thought of possibly a bigger radiator and no room for a fan? Do I change motor mounts? and will the flywheel for my standard tranny bolt onto the 350tbi?

So, my grandfather is giving me a 78 corvette factory replacement 350 to put in my 01 sonoma, I need a lot of help on the parts list and what I could possibly scrounge from a junkyard, and the idea is to go from computer to carbureted. I'm new to this engine swap thing and whatever you could help me with would be greatly appreciated

I have an 87 TBI 2.8 v6 4x4 blazer. Would I have to change wiring harness if I went with a TBI 350 from the same time frame. I don't mind doing the party swaps or fab work if needed but I don't want to mess with wiring at the moment and I'm trying to get a new motor in soon and get it back on the road.
