How hard would it be to put a 400sb in instead of a 350? Is the 400 a stroked 350? Could use the adapters/headers for the 350? I'm looking for 320-330hp at the ground and just think the 400 would be more unique than the 350-383 swap.

400

A 400 has a longer stroke and a bigger bore, and is the smallest stock small block. You can use any small block header, exhaust manifold, and install kit. If you wnated something to really light up your truck make a 400 into a 377. Thats a destroked 400. You would use a 350 stroke crank in the 400. It revs to the moon!!

How high would a 400 rev? I wouldn't want to go over 6500 anyways. Plus I wanted to do a 408(don't ask, it just sounds cool to me:p) With the stroked version that would give me more tq than the destroked one right?

408

A 408 wouldnt be stroked, just bored over. Like a 355 is .030 over 350. 406 is .030 over 400, so 408 would probably be a .040 or .060 over 400.

Oh ok;) But am I right to believe that a 400 with a 400 crank would prodouce more tourqe than a 400 with a 350 crank?

You may not want to rev very high but high reving engines with a good bore-over-stroke ratio afford other interesting opportunities. SUCH AS BOOST!:evilg:

I would like one 377 w/ and 18g running 15psi of boost please:D
