Awww...wtf?? Aren't borrowers supposed to be even more careful with other people's stuff?? People like that irritate the crap out of me! They'll probably never fix it because they're too broke and never take care of anything either, and biggest reason why they had to borrow the truck in the first place.

Frame is bent, as in frame horns probably. IMO buy that shit back, would be no big deal to fix the frame horns up front. especially since they hit a pole and the pole basically misses the frame for the most part. just have the steel bumper underneath to pull the frame in a tad but no direct hit to the frame itself.

The truck is still completely mine right now. The only reason it's at a dealership is because my brother works at said dealership and said he'd do me a favor by having their body shop look at it and just tell me what the damage is like so I can decide what I want to do.

I asked about having the frame pulled to be repaired and they said because of the rust on the truck (yeah, it's a rusty pile, but the frame isn't bad at all) they wouldn't want to risk pulling the frame else it could be destroyed.

What really got me is that the driver side of the bumper completely disconnected itself from the frame horn, which leads me to believe that that just disconnected immediately and didn't really affect that horn. That might also put very little stress on the passenger frame horn since there was no resistance to pull on the other side.

The core support is absolutely bent inward and at this point I'm trying to have them pull the core support enough to make it in usable condition, then I'll be replacing everything from the core support forward.

Less-than-sober driver doesn't have the money and he's pretty close to family so I'm not going to sue him. He agreed to pay initially, but neither of us thought the damage would be this bad. I figured the damage would stop at the core support, not all the way to the frame.

Throw a straight bumper on it and see if both sides line up from edge of bumper to center of wheel. Frame horns can be tweaked back or welded. As long as the frame wasn't pushed back on one rail, and as long as there is no damage to the crossmember, it should track fine and be good to drive. Compare the front to back wheels by checking wheelbase and comparing track widths. Tape and pencil.

I may be cutting a 2wd standard cab frame this week. If you need frame horns, hit me up. If you need a whole front half of a straight frame, hit me up. And that red hood is still on the local Craigslist....

The fender to door gaps still look good in the pics. Probably just a frame horn. We had one fixed on a full size recently for about $400, including some snow plow mount bracing.

i hit some guys trailer hitch sitting in traffic one day in my blazer. I was going like five miles and hour and it didnt even touch my radiator, BUT, it did do a number on one frame horn. NOt sure how second gens are but the frame horn on my first gen sheared off and left the frame itself pefect. I beat the frame horn back into the shape, and welded it back on.

Yes, technically it bent the frame horn, which a shop and insurance adjuster would just say "your frame is bent" but it took me all of an afternoon and a junk yard bumper to get my truck back perfect. Frame horns are meant to take a little abuse before damaging anything structural. Id pull the bumper and have a look at them.
