I've done this b4 on my old column - but I just got a new one and the spring is reeeeeel hard. Does anyone have a trick to removing this thing so that I can replace the horn thing so that my f&#*$ truck will pass inspection?
Spend 15 bucks on the tool it saves major time and headaches. Before I had the tool i used a piece of steel that had three holes in it. put that on the center and put the wheel nut back on. then put some nuts and bolts into the end holes and used them to press down on the plate to pop the ring up.
I'd recomend the tool tho just get it from autozone.
