So, to all who have used before how about the necessity to have the slides parallel with the frame, cause that was my first thought was just trim it. But the geometry is the big question

The sliders should be mounted level. If you tilt them back for clearance at the front, the slots won't be angled properly and it won't ride well. They're really easy to trim, though.

BTW, you need to be sure you don't run out of travel when the springs are compressed flat. It doesn't look like your springs have a ton of arch, so you should be fine (what you have leaves a lot of travel for suspension droop, which is good). If you had springs with more arch, like a SUA setup, you might need to move the sliders back a little, or move the front hangers forward. But I think you're good the way you have it.

Yeah tom, measured my original waggy springs(currently installed) they are 47" from eye to eye fully flat. My sliders I think I left 2" of extra slide room when I tacked them in. I do have some 44044 springs that have more arch, but are stiffer. I am told that many people run these waggy springs because they flex well, so I am gonna try to stick with them. I just have to alter the slider housing to account for the flatness of em

Eshaw, different places, different forums. They were mentioned to me by a member of this forum and I just googled what they were the pros and cons of em and decided to order a set from liquid iron

To all who are contemplating doing an sas. It's a long process, I'm not even done myself. But over a year after I started. The Baja lives! This is definately a commitment, but I promise you when u drive across town, you are gonna turn heads, even if the body looks a little rough

When you installed the sliders, did they mount to the bottom of your frame rail or inside of it? My frame is different since it's a ZR2 and 2nd gen but I didn't see any pics of the final installation of the sliders is why I ask.

I know you weren't asking me, but my sliders ended up mostly inboard of the frame rails.

Gotcha man, basically I did the the waggy 44 spring swap. Then I switched to a soa, and made sure my measurements were within an 1/8th of an inch at worst. Now the rear eye of my leaf spring on the drivers side did not fall where it did on the passenger side. I took measurements from frame rails, body, back axles. The leaf spring supports will not be exactly the same. Start from the front and work back so to say. And then after I had full truck weight on em I made sure the 'movement ' of the slider was as parallel as possible. Now I havent wheeled it yet, as I just moved before completing the shock hoops and front shocks. But I'm gonna get there over the winter😁

Ok, so I am still toying with my front suspension before I cut and weld my front driveshaft. My most recent pics were of the original waggy springs on the front. Problem with those is they bottomed out on my sliders just driving around the yard. So I switched to the 44044 springs today and I dont mind the lift as much as I do the stiffness of these suckers. So I could have the waggy springs re-arched at a spring shop. Or I could create a bastard pack from the main spring of the 44044 pack and use the rest of the waggy front pack. I am sort of inclined to do both, but I figured I would ask for some insight. And then I will make the rear match.
