Hey i have an 85 im trying to repair, i replaced my speedometer drive gear and tested my speedometer cable. The cables good and reading on the dash but the new gear isnt doing anything no damage when i took it back out. My speedometer still womt work so can anyone help me with where i should look next?

When you say "Drive gear", that's the one on the output shaft. Why did you replace it? Or did you replace the driven gear?
Is the cable turning at the dash when you drive it? If so the issue is the speedo.
Basically the drive gear turns the driven gear which turns the cable. If all 3 are turning only thing left is speedo. If all 3 aren't turning fix what ain't.
