Is it a bad idea to wire my dash speakers up with 12 gauge wire. I know it's unnecessary, the wire coming from my HU harness is a small gauge, but I just have it sitting around and I figured I might as well use it.

Might as well and use what you got, 12 ga is overkill but youll be okay

It'll work just fine. It's not needed, but won't hurt anything either.

Bigger will not hurt, smaller will.

when my system was first done they used 12guage speaker wire but it was a pain getting in and out.
