I was on msnbc.com this morning, looking at gas prices around the country. I live in South Florida, on the Gulf of Mexico, close by (relatively) to all the refineries and we are paying around 2.90 for the cheap stuff. According to msnbc we are paying 2.86. I know it's different by a few cents all around Florida, but when I click on Montana and North Dakota, they are shown as only paying about 2.38 for the same stuff. How in the hell is gas 40 cents a gallon cheaper up there? How can it be cheaper to transport gas to BFE Wyoming than to the Gulf of Mexico? I just don't get it. Does anyone have a reasonable answer to this?
