If this is your first shot at an engine swap, I have a crisp piece of paper with Ben Franklin's image in the middle of one side that says it'll end up being kicked to the curb well before it's anywhere close to finished. Not judging you or your skills, just using thousands of similar projects that have suffered the same fate as predictors.
Do an easier swap first, one that you don't have to do all the expensive trial and errors. Very few of those are completed without some issues that need to be ironed. Not hundreds of issues like you'll run into, just a few.
Dreaming about this kind of project is fun, most of us do it. The devil is in the actual build.
