Ok, it was 4 degrees this morning when I left for work. After starting up the truck, I turned the heat/defrost on to clear the windshield. As soon as I adjusted the fan control, some smoke came out of the fan adjustment wheel. It smelled electrical. No other issues..... so far. The heater worked the whole way to work. The truck ran fine. Anything I should check out or keep a close eye on?

Heater core would be most likely.

Why would the heater core cause an electrical smell from the HVAC controls??

To the op...pull the controls and take a look.

Well. If everything continues to work. My thought is maybe the smell
Actually is not electrical. If electrical was melting down. In my experience the smell wouldn’t go away and everything just work ok. I have however had customers tell me that there is electrical
Smoke coming from heat and it was actually steam and blown heater core.
