Shifter wiring help

Ive added a Bravada console and auto shifter to my 99 Sonoma originally 5-speed truck. Does anyone know the normal location of the plug for the wiring harness? Im hoping its there and these trucks wiring harness are not specific to the engine/trans combo originally built with. Any help is appreciated.

Otherwise Im going to have to do the zip tie mod for the shift lock selenoid lolz.

Sorry man but there is no plug for the floor shifter on the 5-speed trucks. I put a bravada floor shifter in my 97 LSx truck that was originally a 2.2 5-speed. It wasn't that bad.

For some reason I didn't document how I wired mine up but screw that whole zip tie ghetto mod. Mine is hooked up to where the shift lock releases when I press the brake pedal, the dimmer switch on the dash controls the lights in the console, the park/neutral safety works, ect...

I know I hooked up the brake lockout wire to that switch above the brake pedal, easy to do. I wired the park neutral safety into the wires that used to go to the clutch switch since they are inline to the starter. So power is only provided to the old clutch wires when the shifter is in park or neutral. The black wire is just grounded and the gray is run to the radio dimmer wire since I wasn't using it.

All in all, it's easy to wire it up and be functional without having to zip tie stuff.

Just because someone does something different doesnt mean its ghetto.

I did the zip tie lockout because when I work on my truck I dont wanna get in & get everything dirty just to shift it.

Nobody drives my truck but me & all I have to do is cut the ziptie & it will work again.
sorry man, I didn't mean it to come out like it sounded. Just the wrong use of a word on my part.
shoot zip ties are holding my truck together lol. jk i do use the piss out of them under the hood though for vac lines and wires b4 i loom.
Its cool. I just hated getting into my seats when my backside was all dirty from laying under the truck & tied it up one day & have never undone it.

You can still hear the solenoid click if I push the brakes when in park.

It is pretty easy to hook up & looks good when the light is working.
you can splice it in to the column switch. That is what I did.

Here is the shifter plug diagram and the location of the column shift switch.

Thanks A million! BTW - That coating you put on your headers is perfect. I wish I had kept them now lol.
those bastards are a tight fit! THANK YOU
How did you get this to work? The wires on the column solenoid (dark green/white - black) supply power when the brake pedal is NOT applied, and remove power when the brake IS applied. The solenoid on the floor shifter needs to work in the opposite fashion. Did you tap into something else besides those 2 wires going to the column solenoid? The connector on the floor shifter has 5 pins. Do some of those need to be connected to something?

I'd rather not resort to tapping into the brake light switch as this would activate the solenoid every time the brake is pressed, wearing out the solenoid, whereas the wiring on the column only works when the shifter is in park.

I spliced every wire where it woukd have been if the jimmy came with a floor shifter, one at the brake switch, a few at the column and some over on the passenger side. if yu want i can track down all of the splices.
I got it working. The column solenoid was a 2 wire setup whereas the console solenoid requires 3 wires to work.

Instead of using the green/black on the column, I tapped into the one by the brake, and also tapped the green/white. So pins A,B and E on the pic you provided is what was required.

This would have been easier if I had a harness. Thanks for posting the pic. I was zip tied before and always wanted to get it working properly.
I also got the column lock switch and it plugs in to the. light green/ white harness on the column
Did the whole 5 speed to 4L60e with a floor shift ever get resolved? Cause that's what I'm doing in my truck... Would be great if I could figure it out ahead of time
Can the lock switch be swapped from a floor shift column to a non-floor shift column? After removing my old shifter from the column, the key can be removed in any gear. The lock was purely mechanical.

Where did you tap into for yellow wire for the key release in park only?
im looking for this info also!?!?!?!?!?
I taped in to it at the base of the column, so the wires go from shifter assembly to the column base and tap in to wires from the old column based park neutral switch and one wire from the brake switch. I can get more specific, but it will take me a few days to go over the diagrams again.
That would be a big help...thx.
