Just got my 2003 S10 4cyl. Automatic on the road today. Drove it for about an hour everything’s fine drives like it should. I get home and back in my drive way and went to put it in park and it wouldn’t shift up. So I shifted it down to drive then it wouldn’t shift into Neutral, Reverse, or Park. I had to get out and manually shift it with my hand on the lever. Can anyone help me out. The transmission is fine it shifts from P to 1 no problem. Just the shifter in the cab only shifts down and not back up. Thank You!

if linkage under hood moves the problem is in the column.if linkage does not- it will most likely be the pivot point under the cab.

Could be a broken or stretched cable. There could also be a problem at the bracket that secures the outter part of the cable to the trans.

When I had enough pulling power but it can’t push that lever

You'll find the problem in the cable if you check it over. There is an adjustment in it (usually by the trans) that's probably broken, it's not starting clipped into the bracket on the trans, or not staying in the bracket under the dash. Check it thoroughly and you'll find it.
