I have a 2001 xcab extreme. I want to remove the factory jack, remove the jump seat and replace it with a new pannel, and build a custom box to go around that stupid hump in the back. ANY IDEAS???? This box is such a pain in the ass. They couldnt just install a bench in the dam truck.

are you going to build the box or have someone else do it?

dont put a panel in those spaces. build a custom box for those and put some badass 8 or 10 in subs in there. you can also do some tight stuff with neon in there if you wanted to. or some nice speakers or a place to mount some amps. thats good space dont panel it off

Box for extended

I really like the JL Audio Stealthbox that they have for the S10... You can still keep the seat (which is good for resale) and it doesnt take up too much space... The only problem is that it comes with 2 JL's in it, and they wont sell it without. The price is about 700.00...
I already have 2 fosgate 10's (the new Kind) and a Fosgate Amp (the old kind). I dont mind paying say.. 300 for the box... But dont want to spend the money on something I dont need...

I hope someone who reads this knows the dimensions (inside and out) So I can make one... It will be a pain in the ass and take forever, but if thats what needs to be done... (or if you know someone who is selling one-I need the dark grey (almost black) carpeting for my 2002.

that jl stealth box only house 2..... 8" subs.i dosent have room to house anything bigger because of how low it is to fit under the seat.plus you gotta admit for only being able to house 8" subs thats a monster sized box.

its not hard to make a box back there....if you trying to keep it a small as possible then just get sobs that run off of smaller airspace then build your box from there.

I dont care about the space I want to use as much of it as possible cause i dont need it, but as for the cap with a display in the side with maybe a crossover that could be a thought i didnt think of that, but what i was thinking of was to make a plexi display with neons on top of the box with xtreme etched in the glass. im doing all of the work myself except for the etching, im pretty good at this stuff but right now im kinda looking for ideas, and i think putting the cap in there with neons around it may be the best idea, and i can still keep the factory panel i just have to remove the seat itself, the only question now is, how will you see it if the box is in the way? im also trying to keep the factory jack box and im going to build around it

JL Stealthbox (*'s not 10's)

your right... I looked at the paragraph desrcibing it and it says 10's... then below it is the part number and it shows 8's. those *******s... either way... its a good idea for a box... I would still take it if someone could dream it up...

Here is my setup hahah still on factory head unit. 3 jl 10 w3d6, i ripped out jack and third seat, Hooked up to a 700ppi and a 1 farad monster cap, the box i built and carpeted. we ended up using like 4 cans of liquid nails on every corner and screw all wiring is sodered directly to the speakers so i cant really pull the speakers out without having the cut wire. I havent gotten a db reader but it blurrs your vision. i have lots of pictures and can explain how i got over the hump and that little ledge in the rear i also cut around.

I have 2 Rockford HE2 10" The stealth box wont do me any good cause they are loaded, ive already looked into that, besides there isnt enough room inside even if i emptied the the box and put my subs inside. I looking for more of a normal sealed box that can fire out the back wall, but overcome that stupid dip in the back, thats the hardest part and i dont want to built a custom box just for that. the factory jack i am willing to relocate but if im gonna go custom ill just build around it.
