Hey could you tell me where all the ground wires in a engine harness for a s10 2003 2200 4cylinder go?. Obviously the grounds have connector to be bolted but what about the 2 wires on 2 of the connectors and the 1 on the other connector
(5 wires in total/3 ground connectors that need to be bolted)

Welcome to the forum. How about posting some pictures of what you are talking about? There are a fair amount of 'connectors' in the engine compartment, and your description really doesn't provide much detail. That said, generally, ground wires need to be attached to a solid, clean part of the chassis or engine block.

Somebody has been hacking the wires - no, that is not normal. The 1st photo looks like someone spliced in either a piece of solid wire to the stranded harness wire, or it's a wire that didn't have the (brown?) insulation stripped back at the crimp joint - hard to tell from the photo. IF it's the second, the wire gauge is too small and it's not in contact with the black conductor. The second photo - I'm not quite sure about that, but the taped off wire looks to have a brown insulator on it, so it might be the other end. What's hiding under that wad of tape?

Nothing just the end of the wire

all 3 of these is what I’m referring to as ground connectors on the engine harness for the Chevy s10 2003 2200. I just need to know what the wire that isn’t connected goes to. What all needs a ground wire? What sensors? Does it go to one of the pcm’s?

Is there no way to tell where all 5 of those wires leading off the grounds circular connectors go? With it cut I don’t have a idea. I’ve hooked up the wire harness to the fuse box and to the computer and tested sensors with a multimeter and all of them seem to be working but I guess I’ll do that again just to make sure until the next reply.I have the whole wire harness disconnected at the moment. The issue is that when I start my truck I can drive x amount of miles. Anywhere from 0.2 of a mile to 55 miles and than the truck cuts off. The dash is lights work but than it won’t start for a while till the next day or x amount of days later. There’s been times it’s started from just shaking the wire harness a little and times where it wouldn’t. I’ve replaced the ignition control module, fuel pump, and the fuel filter. I’ve checked all my fuses and relays and don’t have any problem there so I don’t know where to look next except the wire harness. First vehicle I’ve ever worked on Fyi

The wires you're holding...are the other ends connected to anything? They're obviously ground wires with that big ring terminal. How did you get into this mess in the 1st place? I'd start looking along the inner fender for holes that have obviously been used. That may be where they go. Would be able to tell by the scars the terminal left on the paint. A pic a little further away that shows the overall disaster might help.

I bought the truck from a older Vietnam vet. It ran and drove fine and than on the way home it died on me. Will give a update in the next hour. I’ll post pictures to where all the other wires leading from the terminal as well. Thank you!

Where the ground wire that is leading from a ground terminal goes because it’s been cut
Test the continuity from the cut piece of harness to a good ground source. If you have it, splice the broken/cut pice to it and find a good place to ground it.
