Ok, guys, I have a treat for you all. A while back, I stumbled upon a COMPLETE service manual for the S-series trucks. I believe these are GM manuals as they go into crazy step-by-step detail with the complete procedure and torque spec documentation. The PDF files were broken up into sections so that I will post them in the appropriate areas. If the following links do not work, let me know, and I will try to correct them. Make sure you have flash/java and all that updated on your browser.

Here is a link to the complete service manual that I uploaded. This includes everything from electrical to engine and suspension as well as body.

Am I missing the actual wiring diagram in the steering column file? I'm just not seeing it in there. I've got the column out of a '97 Blazer that I'm trying to put in my '97 truck, which has a column and dash harness out of a slab S10 ( I think). I desperately need to decode all the wiring coming out of this Blazer column. But I don't see a diagram or color code list in that steering column file.

I didn't see anything for what I am trying to do. I have a 2000 2wd 2.2L 5spd and I went to the junk yard today and got the 3 mode 4x4 dash switch. What I am wanting to do is to use that switch to power my new off road lights in the front. I want to use the push button "2 hi" as the on and off button for the lights. How can I make this work? Not sure what wires in the back will power that mode. Not sure how to test it either. Please help. Thanks

Why not just get a stock headlight switch out of an s10 w/factory fog lamps? The foglight switch is built into it.

I need connector c4 (should be front headlight harness connector at the fusebox)pin out diagram. I was unable to find it on here. I'm trying to wire 2000 headlights into an 03 fuse block and apparently the wiring is way different. I have looked over the wiring diagram and it isn't helping

Beandip, that's a treat, really. Thanks a million!

However, some files I download seem to be corrupt (e.g. 1995-96 MANUAL TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL.pdf and 1996 ANTILOCK BRAKES.pdf). Any chance you could have a look and upload them again? Bad luck has it, these are the ones I need most :(

Cheers

Also it is a good idea to check your local library. Here in Grand Forks County, North Dakota there is a complete auto repair reference center. It has all makes and models and years with repair information, wiring diagrams, and others. I have used it for my 2002 S10 2.2L and for my (unmentionable) SUV. Best part is it is free and easy to search, and very organized.

The master and complete wiring links need deleted. They are dead. If anyone has these 2 that are sitting around on their computer I'll send a couple of bucks your way. I haven't been able to get a response from OP.

For your 1996, here is the best deal on ebay for both books of the factory service manual:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1996-CHEVRO...ash=item1ec3431f8e:g:ZzEAAOSwxEpYxqcl&vxp=mtr

Don't consider the price as a cost, consider it an investment. Should you ever sell the truck you can sell them again on ebay. The prices keep going up because they are getting harder and harder to find. Finding the correct wiring diagrams on line is next to impossible. The CD's they sell as service manuals only have generic wiring diagrams and are useless because the actual wiring changed every year. Especially in 95 -96 -97-98.
99&00 are very similar and 2001 up are all real close.

I need to know what a blue wire might have been used for..My 1996 S10 ran one day..then it tried starting a few days later but now it just cranks..Today i found a blue wire under the hood by the brake booster that has been cut on purpose or has been pinched between the cab and the frame..what could this mysterious blue wire be for?

Do you still have the full service manual for a 2004 S10 Blazer?
