hey everyone, me and my freind have been arguing for a while about which would be faster in a drag race, a 93 s-10 with a cpi 4.3 2 wheel drive or a 95 4x4 blazer with the same engine. i argue that the truck is lighter and doesn't lose power throught the transfer case and he argues that he would get better traction. i have not bad tires on my truck and it gets good traction when its hot. we can't find this out the old fashion way right now cuz the ground is covered in snow but what do you think

between 93 and 95 there were different engines unless someone did a engine swap.

125 HP / 150 TQ 2.8L TBI V6 (Vin R)
165 HP / 235 TQ 4.3L TBI V6 (Vin Z).

1995 Driver air bag, Daytime Running Lamps and ZR2 Extended Cab introduced

118 HP / 130 TQ 2.2L MPFI 4 cyl (Vin 4)
155 HP / 235 TQ 4.3L TBI V6 (Vin Z).

depends on who is driving, and you wouldn't want to race with 4WD engaged. there is alot of factors that will determine who would win.

I"m pretty sure that my s-10 has the cmfi 4.3 because in my serial number it has the w denoting the non tbi 4.3 and i'm sure that its a 93 so it must have been an option that year because i have one.

more often than not, 93-back, before the second gen, higher top speed in the 4.3 vortec offered, instead of the normal 100 cut-off on the '94+ 4x4, the 2wd would take it in the long run. i got 4x4 ext. cab, dad's got the 93 vortec 2wd blazer, he took me in the end. i have just over 100,000 miles on it, he's running up around 178,000, so yeah.
But never shocked me, seeing how my last s-10 was a 91 2wd with non-vortec 4.3, and it lit the rubber up.

The 4wd blazers are too heavy (not to mention high maintenance and a pain in the ass to work on). Even with the 4WD engaged an S10 will catch it before the end of 1/4 mile.

it wouldnt spin in 2wd and the transfer case would only steal power.
