I've been using Google to search this forum and can't find a definitive answer on this. What's the situation with S-10 headlights between the different model years? I have a '97 S-10 SS and was just at O'Reillys and got headlights for it and they're the wrong size? They're fixed headlamps where you can't change the bulb, and the ones on the truck are smaller than what O'Reillys gave me. A google search on the old ones says they're H4666. Are these smaller lamps and were used on the older S-10 and a previous owner had converted them? The front of the truck looks aftermarket and has a bumper with holes for foglamps.

Also, for the older fixed lamps, is there a way to upgrade to the socket-style (composite?) lamps so I can get much more powerful headlights? I see LED options on Amazon but I want a more stock look. I've researched and there's wiring harness adapters but how do I get a lamp assembly that's this size and I can change the bulb?

Would help if you post a pic of the front of the truck since you think it's not stock. Stock sealed beams were 4x6 on a 97. 1st gens had better (larger) 5x7" headlights. There was also an option in 97 for Halogen lights with 2 replaceable bulbs per side.

It definitely has the first style. No idea why OReillys would give me the wrong, larger style.

I think the price is rather fair. Morimoto is pretty much OEM quality and if you price any OEM headlights nowadays, LED or not, they are most likely much more expensive.

Thanks that looks really good! Expensive though.

No fooling....a factory LED h/l for the Blazer is $750...each.
Everyone of my personal vehicles and as many of my friends vehicles we run murimoto products.
Yes, theyre expensive compared to a $12 dollar light bulb. BUT, once you use good, high quality lights once, youll never want to go back.
My girlfriend has a late model ford SUV, sometimes i cant tell if her lights are on at night, because the difference is so drastic.

i dont have any vehicles with those older style of lights, but i believe you can get led replacements on amazon for not much money... quality may not be perfect but in general the light will likely be better than the stock one and probably cost roughly the same

There are no doubt options on Amazon, eBay, & others for LED replacements, but they also have plenty of cheap imitations. Those can be of questionable quality and may not have much engineering behind them (for issues like lumen output and/ or proper reflector surfaces/ beam pattern focus, etc.), It's possible to end up with something that is no better, or perhaps inferior to the OEM setup. Also, LEDs are polarity sensitive, so if used, it's critical to get the wiring right. Just saying that good due diligence is warranted.

I had the HID "Projector" lights with the led "dots" almost halo things... They were garbage. The Projector housing was not deep enough, the light pattern was all wrong, light was all up in the trees and way out to the sides. I won't ever buy ebay lights again! It's OEM or reputable company only.
I just put my "stock" OEM Wagner halogen 4x6 ligjts back in until I can find a 95-97 blazer factory grille and factory blazer lights. Be careful of the junk thats out there! And by the way, if you go cheap, and they are not DOT approved do not have an accident!
Any good attorney will have a safety inspection done and you could be on the hook for something that was not your fault!
