Recently ran my '85 through self-serve car wash. Sprayed off engine (carbureted 2.8L) until nice and clean. Now the the dang thing idles very roughly and lacks power at speed. Acts like vacuum leak, but can't find one. Replaced spark plug wires after getting a shock off one. No difference. Is there any one component that I should check? Anything (except the carb) that's not supposed to get wet? thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like ignition if it's skipping, take the distributor cap off and dry it out good, spray a little silicone in it and let it dry.

a little bit of heat gun might help. not too hot though. and make sure your connections are dry before you use some silicone or you will trap the moisture and cause corrosion.
