I just bought a 95 Sonoma SLS ext cab 4.3 w/5 spd and I noticed that the reverse lights don't work. What do you think it could be? How does the trans tell that it is in reverse? I haven't checked the bulbs yet but I really doubt that both bulbs are blown and I don't think that they have a seperate fuse. I need suggestions. Thanks.

Mine only work when they want. I have a 4.3 5 speed also

there is a little switch on th edriver side of the trans...a very simple repair....mine did the same thing....leave the key on...unplug the switch....jump the wires out....if the reverse lights turn on...you got a bad switch....if not look into it further...but i doubt that anything else would be wrong....9 times out of 10 its the switch...

the switch is cheap, I had to replace mine too
