That should work to substitute for the canister in the inner fender. Just make sure that the alternate mounting location isn't near heat sources, and that it will clear everything. Here's a photo of the factory mount for a '96, for reference.

Awesome, thanks. Is there a reason it can't be mounted under the battery where thevold one is?

👍🏻 cool, will mounting it under the batteryvwhere the old one lives work?
The one that's under the battery is the actuator. It serves a completely different function. The vacuum ball you posted is not a replacement for that one, only the one in the fender.

Is this what I am looking for? It looks right from memory, the last time i had the battery and tray out. Thanks👍🏻.

The reservoir part number is #15720833 . No longer available and AFAIK no one in the North America has a replacement.
If you know someone in Brazil they're available from Akar Automotores S.A. for $8.795 Brazilian reals. Conversion rate is 9.9, so approximately $87.95 USD. plus shipping and duty. Comes with the hose.

Wow, looks like I am going to see if it keeps working with changing just the actuator, TC switch, and lines. If not I'll have to find a spot for that black globe of a reservoir.
