I have JVC CS-V4625 4 x 6 in the front dash. I'm thinking of using the same type 4x6's in place of the 4x10's in the back pillar. Will I need an adapter to make them fit in the rear pillar or will they fit? Can another size fit into the 4x10 housing (4" or 5 1/4")? My truck is a 1992 GMC Sonoma SLE ext cab. Thanks.

round speakers are better and more efficient. you could always fit in a 4" round speaker just fine

lets do a little math here, shall we? if the hole is 4"x10" and a round speaker is only 4" in both the X and Y plane, is 2 x 4" < 10"?

yea but is it 4 in. wide all the way down??, i thought they kind of narrowed down as they got towards the end
likely you will be able 2 fit 2 pairs of 4's but it will require some cutting. Also the factory 4x10's dont mount to metal, they mount to the plastic that covers the hole. So youve got a lot of work ahead of yourself if u dont just go with 4x10's.

i was gonna mess with stuff like you were but it was just that much easier not to:cool:

and i wouldn't bother with messing with it. upgrade the front speakers well and you won't need rear speakers
