why are they so damn big? and how far can i cut them back safely? Ill be doing a 3" BL, and AAl in the rear, but it looks like those bumpstops are really going to limit the already small amount of articulation i can get out of the rear.
It's really a matter of personal preference. the bumpstops exist to prevent any pssoble damage to your suspension, tires, or body, and also to keep you within the limits of safety. myself, I took em all the way out, but then again my setup is entirely rigged for off-road.
i can understand having them on a truck, where the payload limit might be exceded and they are needed to form a cushion, but i'm not looking to haul anything in the back of thr Blazer, and i don't routinely fly over trails, or jump hills. Would cutting off 2 of the 3 "bubble" shaped-parts be safe for general use?
Yeah it will be fine with a little less bump stop. Energy also makes generic urethane pieces that may suit your purposes a little better. But to save money you can cut them.
