Hey everyone. I think I have a bad rag joint on my truck's steering column. I get like 2-3" of play in the steering wheel even with new ball joints, hub bearings, idler arm and with known good tie rod ends and pitman arm. I have had this problem since I got the truck at 58,000 miles in 11/07. I have a few questions on this:

1. Where can I find the part? I can't find it on Advance Auto's or Rock Auto's website.

2. How bad is it to replace? Is this something that a shop would try to shove a $1000 bill in my face to do a $100 job?

did ya check the steering shaft itself? Not sure what its called but the upper tulip joint and slip joint on the shaft right before the firewall likes to go bad and cause play in the steering.
