You're not laying on 16s..there's something wrong. I almost lay on 17s right now and my 18s, I was 2.5" up of the ground up front before, and 1/4" off the rear.
With my 17s, the rear is down but the front is held up by the tranny and engine. They sit really low on my truck..damn tranny's ****ed cuz of slammin it so many times..lol
I'd stick with 225/50 tires to lay out if the rim isn't wider than 8".
