Looks like the top hose connection to this connector is a permanent stay. Can I eliminate the connector and run 4 individual hoses to the switch that is on the intake OR does the connector perform a function other than a convince.

That is a thermal vacuum switch, at a certain temp a valve inside will divert vacuum to other sources such as egr, e cell. Honestly i got rid of it, finding a 4 tube is absolutly impossible. You can leave the valve still installed but kick the lines out.

Thanks Grease for rhe reply back. I ended up running direct individual lines to the switch FWIW.

that is what I did. It made the emission Nazis happy too.
