It should be the same, but you never know...

On my 96 Z if you unplugged the MAFS and ran the car it would switch over to speed density and run the fans the whole time. Is that the same case for me and my 2k 4.3? I was just wondering cause I'm gonna try and fab an open element intake and not use the MAFS...thanks...late...

i think the MAF is required for the engine to run correctly, i believe there was a reply in the other MAF post that said that.

whoa whoa.. i had a ? here, whered it go??

what is speed density?? basically what i wanted to know.

and how is it related to fans... what fan? the belt driven fan? aftermarket efan? heater fan? yankees fan?

Speed Density is just a mode that doesn't use a MAFS, it only uses your MAP sensor. It was related to my dual electric fans on my Z28, I'm not sure why. Maybe just a safety somthin....
