I got this blazer on Oct 10, 2012. It had a few issues when I drove it home but I'd rather fix stuff myself and know it was done right.
Here is it the night I traded my 02 Grand Am SE1 for it.
That night I brought it home it got a new fram air filter, wipers and a oil change. (it had no af in it when I got to the walmart parking lot on the way home.

rolleyes: cheap bastards) It sat in my driveway for maybe 20 minutes and the stock deck came out and in went my Pioneer DEH-3200UB that was in my pontiac. It had some kinda blown speaker in the passenger door but more on that later.
It too had a CEL on when I got it with no 1st or 4th gear. The previous owner bought me a new shift solenoid and a battery for it. The next day I bought another shift solenoid, a new trans filter and pan gasket, and 6qts of Max life dextron ATF.
Shift solenoid swap in progress and new filter. Yay all 4 forward gears and TTC lockup now. Also hacked the front off the airbox and ground the diffuser off the TB blade. Also cleaned the MAF at this time. Also mounted the horn off the freightliner I had but I had and still don't have a small enough tank to mount to my frame rail yet.
Next day I go get my parents rug doctor and get the hose and cleaned the carpet inside.
It is a far cry better then it was.
150 psi of horn honking fun someday.
After this I decided to go buy some auto-trak II fluid but never got around to swapping it out.
Next was onto fixing other shit the previous owner did to try to half ass his way out of things. Like take a dremel to the sunroof track to fix a broken piece of plastic. That didn't work for them so they just disconnected the switch and put weather foam around the hole.

This sparked a trip to PIC-A-PART. I walked around for about a hour before finally finding a vehicle with a intact sunroof that some tard hadn't broken or bent to hell n back. So $40 later I leave with a sunroof assembly from a 98 bravada. Removing it was super easy in the bone yard, box cutter and a drill with a socket on the end. Someone did half the work for me already though and ripped down part of the headliner.
Now came the fun stuff removing my blazer headliner and all that sticky weather seal they put in the sunroof. Once all that crap was done I took a air compressor to the 4 drain holes for the sun roof and it sounded like they was clogged but a good burp of the air line shot out whatever was hiding in them. New sunroof in and I have a spare glass chilling in the house now too plus this one works and don't leak. Speaking of leaks it needed a hinge pin and bushings on the passengers door pretty bad. It would rain down the passengers side door on the inside when it was raining or in car washes.
I got on rockauto.com and placed a order for 4 shocks, I got the cheapo heavy duty monroes due to the fact they were made in the USA, they worked great on my 04 CC and they were cheap. Right around $50 delivered for all 4.
Bye bye old shit!! :rotf:
I found a guy parting out a 2000 LT on Craigslist. He is also a member here (Ghostdime)
I had this as it was perfectly useless now with the tape player. I can't honestly tell you the last time I played a tape let alone seen one.
Well $40 spent with ghostdime I left with a non-tape console and a keyless entry fob.
Aidos tape space waster!!
I decided to give it a bath.
Fast forward a month or so, I got off my butt and decided to go buy the spring tool and a set of bushings and pins. Got those changed out, now no more water leaks and best of all NO wind noise.
Come new years eve I awake to see SNOW! woot!
It is now January and I scored this Dynomax muffler from a buddy for free and the tow hooks came from pull-a-part. $6
After having the dynomax lay in the back of the blazer for a few months I decided to get off my ass one day and also help out another forum member (outlook) with his blazer drinking gas. I stopped at Mufflers and More up in Noblesville and got the stocker removed and the Dynomax installed.
It mounted up very nicely too!
I hit up Ghostdime again for the cluster from the 2000 LT he was parting out. $20 later I got a functional tach in my blazer. (It was ordered with the base cluster in it)
Lets go urban snow wheeling in Indy!!
I decided to go to PIC-A-Part again, I scored a reman'd rear wiper motor from a 98 bravada, so now I have a functional rear wiper but I still need to track the rear washer fluid leaking under the carpet inside. (no pics)
Now it is February and I'm sick of not being able to ENJOY the tunes in my blazer due to the beehive sound that rolls out the passengers door with the bass notes. I got bored one night and was browsing
http://www.sonicelectronix.com and found a set of MB Quart FSB 216 for $55 shipped, for the 6.5" Component set. They said it would not fit in the blazer, but whatever I'll make it fit.
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_33018_MB-Quart-FSB-216.html
Next day I took to installing them. Found out that the mid bass drivers were about 1/4" too deep and was hitting the window track rubber in the door. No problem, channel_lock ***** to the rescue and I cut about 4" off the outside and left the in the track part alone.
Lets start removing the stock garbage from the truck.
A lil bit of modifying to get the MB Quart tweeters to fit in the stock holes and add some high temp hot glue.
Add a few self tapping screws and VIOLA! they fit just fine.
The stock garbage...
:haha::rotf: Yep they duct taped it, no wonder why it buzzed like a SOB!
Lets add a lil bit of juice to the components! A old as the truck is Rockford Fosgate 120a2.
[email protected] and
[email protected] I left it like this incase I need to fold the seats down I can throw it under the plastic panel and hide it out the way.
A few days after the whole audio swap deal I decided to change my idler arm, make it was trashed. No pics of that though.
Also got bored and wired a trailer lighting harness. $6 at TSC.
Last night 2/14/12 I got bored and decided to finally change my T-case fluid.
No that isn't used oil that came out of my t-case.
Lets pump in some fresh shit!
That looks a lil better!!
I think that is about all it till this point. I'll update this as things go on but I'm eyeing a RC 2.5" lift kit, a powertrax no slip and a few other things later down the road.
