you need to advertise the weight savings with those engine mounts compared to other aftermarket versions!

love the corgo!
Thanks!

And good reminder. I've still got the full set I originally bought for the Blazer and a postal scale at home.
And done.

The aftermarket set I bought for the Blazer weighed in at 111.2 oz.

My design came in at 82 for a 29.8 oz difference. That's nearly 2 lbs or a 25% reduction in weight!

Sorry to bump but very curious with your rear bumper. I know it isnt there but how did you do it? Cut off a couple inches of the frame and then welded in a plate across or...? It looks fantastic and I wanna do something similar lol

No worries on the bump. This thread should be ongoing anyway haha

For the rear bumper/frame I created a pattern that retained a couple of the bumper bolt holes, but also clears a roll pan. .My bumper ends are cut down and reformed. I've just not gotten around to adding the roll pan and keep forgetting to grab it while visiting family in Michigan too. As in I should have grabbed it this morning and I'm already down the road back to Oregon haha

I used straight lines with generous radius to make it look like it came that way. Hole saws, drills, and a cutting wheel did the rest with some files to clean it up. I've probably got the template on my computer still.

I didn't add anything to the frame. That's the factory rear fuel tank cross member that my plate is currently attached to.

Looks like it's my turn to bump this post, sorry. I have a '99 4dr 2wd blazer that I'm getting ready to ls swap and if I'm understanding correctly the hummer/muscle car oil pan will not hang below the crossmember like it does in the pickups? I'm planning on using the dingo mounts. Thanks in advance for your help.

Ok thank you Remops for the info. I've already purchased the Holley cover as well and all of the ICT Billet accessory drive brackets as well. I'm hoping I can leave the radiator in the stock location as well, I suppose time will tell.

Like @remops said, my mounts won't hang the oil pan below the crossmember. I left pan about 1/4" above the bottom of the crossmember. That position is about 1/2" below all the other mounts on the market. Dirty Dingo does have a Blazer specific mount too, but I'm not sure the specs or packaging of those. I hope they keep it above.

If they don't work out for you feel free to reach out. I have the parts to make a batch of mounts, but my friend who was helping with the fabrication unexpectedly passed away, so I haven't had them welded up.

Thanks for the info as well @Harley and sorry about your friend. Are you aware of any differences in the frames between the 2dr & 4dr Blazers in the front crossmember area? I know that 4dr's have their gas tanks mounted on the side like the pickups and the 2dr's are mounted at the back. I'm just curious if that's all or if the 4dr's are more like the truck frames. I never would've guessed there would be some many configurations. Wished you guys were local so I could look at one in person.

There's lots of configurations, but GM kept it simple by reusing front and rear sections across the product line. The front Blazer 2WD section is the same on both 4 door and 2 door. Same goes for the 4WD, but different from the 2WD. Rear section is the same on all 2 doors. And same goes for the 4 doors, but different from the 2 doors.

I could go on with the S10, but it's the same reasoning. Except ZR2. ZR2 had their own frame.

If you have any specific questions I can answer those, but that's the basics.

Does the ZR2 Blazer also have a specific frame? I understand they did some things different than the pickups.

I would think they have the same process for the lift as the trucks. They also have frame cracking issues. We didn't have any issues with our BlaZer2, but then it was a pavement queen.

My understanding with the S10 ZR2 is it has its own front clip - basically a widened 4x4 clip and I'm assuming lifted like the Blazer by moving the suspension points downward in the frame. Rear is similar if not the same as a standard S10, but has the taller front leaf mounts for the lift plus attachment points for the Panhard bar.

Blazer doesn't have the Panhard, so my assumption is the rear is a standard 2 door rear section plus the same ZR2 front clip as the S10 because it shares the lifting method as a standard Blazer.

I've not done a thorough investigation of the ZR2 models although I had a frame in CAD alongside the frame I did my design work for my Blazer. It's been a few years, so I'm going off experience plus a vague memory on the ZR2 comparison.
