Hey guys. NV3500 on a 97 s10 2wd. I bought a prefilled slave cylinder to go along with new clutch and new transmission. The price was the same so I went with the pre filled slave. I have never done a slave cylinder before I have total confidence that I can do so! My question is, prefilled means no bleeding or easier bleeding? I assume easier as the hose being disconnected from the old slave is eliminating the seal? If someone could give me a good run down on this it would be appreciated!

Don't think I've ever seen a slave cylinder by itself being pre-filled. I know they offer complete kits, master, hose, and slave pre-filled so you can just bolt them on and go. Don't see the point in just the slave being filled as you are going to get air in the system while connecting it and are right back to need to bleed. Did it come with directions on how to change the slaves w/o any air getting it? Must be some trick to it.

I’ve been curious about the same. I’m not near the parts at the moment but I don’t think directions came with it. I’m curious lol

I replaced mine in 2017, Bought the whole thing from RockAuto, Pre-filled, Pre-Bled. Beautiful thing! Installation was super easy!

Yes Master cylinder as well. I have the "Clutch Fork Assy" so the "Cylinder" was all assembled. Sorry, Just looked at your Pics. and I have the T5 for the 2.2 that's probably the difference,
If they are saying it is "Pre-Filled" It should be easy to bleed it after hook-up. I would imagine it shouldn't be too hard, But I understand where you are coming from.
I have Learned to not Trust anything from the Auto Parts stores anymore, Especially Dorman Products.

I’m right there with you. Dorman products are horrible. Everything I’ve ever bought that was theirs never worked or lasted long.

I doubt you can put the internal slave in with the line attached. Bleeding a clutch is not very difficult.

The pre-filled might save you a few minutes of bleeding at best.

Clutch kit didn't come with a slave? With internal slaves, they are usually available in the kit.

Clutch kit came with clutch disc (of course lol), pilot bearing and bushing, pressure plate, and alignment tool. Had to buy the slave separate.
