Re: 125db

In my big trunk 01 impala, 2 15's and 600 watts I hit a 148.3 with a 9^3 enclosure, 100 sq in of port, drivers window down on the term lab METER, not the mic. This was an all wood box that wasn't sealed up yet. I ended up cutting it in half, glassing the inside, and I have some PVC tubing cut up ready to go on the edges of the port to get the air moving a bit more smoothly as well as a few cans of undercoating to line the interior of the box. Also, a new 1100 watt at 2 ohm amp ( 1600 at 1 ohm ), dual voice coils on teh 15, and only going with one sub this time. I am going for 151

Requirements for respect:
Legal: Dash, Kick Panel, Drivers Headrest
Mine: 143.6, 146.0, 137.9

What meter used:
Mine: TL usb

If you got metered on an AC, its pretty much a worthless number, as they read about 15 dB HIGHER than they should (when compared to the TL--which is the standard). LinearX can be calibrated to be extremely close to the TL, but it wont quite read the same.

Re: 125db

Ok, I'll repost with all the proper info. I did a 138.8.:D I did it with 2 12"s (down fire) and 560w (rms) playing music (not tones). All of my amps & subs are Power Acoustik W/a sony deck (that sucks), and Stinger wiring. TL mic on the dash (center), windows, doors, and everything else closed. I think the other thing that should be mentioned is, if you used tones or music to get these numbers, 'cause that also makes a difference as well.

yeah, no doubt...I've seen guys doing 160+ port war style with a single 10 or something like that...when legal that same setup will do 127.

Alrighty :)

Dash: 145 (guessing, it did a 143.x in the old box)
Kick panel: 148.7
Headrest: 145.1 (w00t ;))
AND
Driveby: 122.0 (if you don't know what driveby is, it's a MECA thing were the meter is put 6 feet away from the passenger door, 4.5 feet off the ground, and you creep by the sensor playing music)

All on the termlab, with a single 10" RE seXXX powered by 2 strapped eD nine.1's running at 1 ohm strapped (.5 ohm a piece). Setup sound sick on music, especially for one 10". :p

this is the thread to post your dB scores. in order to keep your post from being hell holed, you must include the box size, tuning of the box, sub model, sub size, number of subs, amplifier model, rms of that amplifier, number of amplifiers, what mic it was scored on, and where the mic was placed. in addition, if you know at what voltage those scores were at, that would be nice as well. if your post does not meet those requirements, it will be gone.

they can be s10's or any vehicle. this is just a reference of the loudest on the site.

Single Cab S-10, with ONE Memphis Mojo 12" in a ported 1.6 cubic Ft. box, tuned at 45Hz, and a Memphis MCD 1000W amp... 300 RMS @ 4 Omhs. Hit 142.6dB running on the kickpanel, on a Termlab Meter, at Scrapin the Coast. Built a box roughly 3x the size and I'm going to meter again. Will be posting soon!!!

Well, since i can't edit my post.....

I thought i'd make another post to show the details

Vehicle1990 s-10 regular cab
Sub: ONE 10" RE seXXX
Amp(s): Two eD nine.1's running at 1 ohm strapped (.5 ohm a piece). After impedence rise, hopefully getting 2200-2500 RMS
Box: MDF (that's all the details I'm willing to give out right now ;))
Tuning: Don't know, but it PEAKS at 44-46 hz depending on other factors
Meter: Termlab, audiocontrol
Meter placement: passenger kick, headrest, dash, and outside
voltage: varies anywhere from 13.8-15.0 volts

Scores
Termlab:
Dash: 145ish (never officially metered, just a guess)
Kick: 148.7 and getting louder ;)
Headrest: 145.1
Driveby: 122.0 (meter is placed 6 feet away from the passenger door, 4.5 feet off the ground, only allowed to play music)
All of these scores are in MECA class S1, the lowest class possible :)

Audiocontrol:
Dash: 149.x
Kick: 151.9
These scores are before i finished the box and doubled the power ;). I wouldn't be surprised by a 153-154 on an audiocontrol now

It would also help to know whether your metering was legal (sealed up) or outlaw (if a door or window is open).

On mine, I gain 3.9 dB by opening it up...I go from 143.6 on the dash to 147.5 on the dash. THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE SO PLEASE TELL

Don't consider it "legal" or "outlaw" In MECA, the LEGAL way of measuring is in the kick with a door or window open if you want. I build accordingly. Saying "outlaw" makes it seem as though that our scores don't mean anything if they aren't "legal"

So i'd say just tell us where the mic is at, and if you have a door/window open.
