i really don't have much box building experience so i need your help... i bought a jl audio 10W6 and wanted to make a ported box for it, how big do i need to make it and how do i figure out the port size, length, depth... so on

i can help u with this i just got done building one, well for that speaker, a ported box needs .75-.1.25 which is actually pretty small for a ported box but thats what is recomended, depending on how much space u have u can make it pretty much in be tween there,no to calculate the port size

i alsways use this one(the bottom one its pretty easy to figure out)

buts its a little more complicated.

now u pic how many hertz u want usually around 28 for good sound quality and the higher u go pretty much the louder it is up to 40hertz maybe(some people go higher but usually not for a dailly driver)
i tuned the box that i build to 35 hertz and it got a lot louder over the original sealed box and it sounded pretty good for rock and stuff but if u like rock more than rap i would recomend u go down a cople of hertz to like 32 or around there somewhere
