accumulators are basically a reserve tank for the air to go as the cylinder under goes excess pressure (i.e. a pot hole/speed bump) because bags give (rubber), cylinders do not.. Some people use 1/2 gallon tanks, but you'd need 4 of those for a FBSS, 2 for FB. If you buy an accumulator, they're split down the middle so you can hook 2 different side's to one accumulator thus only needing 2 for FBSS or one for FB.
