Okay, I searched, and that wasn't really useful.... I'd prefer not taking my valance into a bodyshop to get painted, and I'm only going to need to paint my valance, tailgate, and maybe some mirrors... Anyway, my truck is like a cherry metallic, but my valance is sun-faded to pink... I'm wanting to get a 98+ bumper and valance for it eventually, so longevity isn't that big of a deal.

Can I get by for now using rattle-can paints? I know I'll need to use adhesion promoter, but in what order do I use primer and all that??? I'm also planning to have it sanded smooth.

3-5 coats of primer, let dry , wet sand, you can put sealer on or just go to base coat put enough to match truck's color/shade
