I'm trying to figure out a strange noise in my 98 blazer. Recently the water pump blew and the engine overheated before it was noticed before it was too late.=( We had to replace the engine with one a low mileage roll over, same year, vin letters matched etc. The truck runs perfect, it's not throwing any codes, you can stick your head any where in the engine compartment and you cant pick up this noise. However, on the inside, there is a swooshing noise that sound quite similar to a tape deck running on the interior. It's definely not the radio picking up noise, cause we pulled power to it. It only seems to happen at low rpm's, the second you push down on the gas, it goes away.

Any ideas?

Thanks

could be a disconnected, leaking, cracked, etc. vaccum line somewhere in the dash.... flip down the glove box and see what you can find... or pull the dash plastic off (a couple screws and clips)

still dont see anything? unscrew radio and pull out- dont unplug though! not sure if yours has that security protection deal.
