Hey,

I've got a buddy with a 1999 Jimmy and he is having heater trouble.

No heat, fan is working, but no heat.

He's changed the thermostat and had the coolant flushed.

I'm thinking he could have a vacuum hose off, or a real nasty clog in the heater core. However, before I go hauling his dash apart I thought I'd check to see if anyone had similar problems.

Thanks,

Nick

I had this problem on my TransAm last year. I don't know if it's the DexCool or what, but the core was clogged up. Of course, on that car, a new one is $200. It was easy to replace, though, about 30 minutes. I don't think the Blazer is that easy.

Is it possible that the door that opens in front of the core to let the heat in isn't operating? Just something to check, just switch the hot/cold switch back and forth rapidly, you should hear the door shutting. If not, then the cable is loose (I'm assuming these vehicles are cable operated in this regard)

Good luck!
