Hopefully we're allowed to post links like this. I have no affiliation to the truck. I just like gawking at expensive stuff on BaT. It's a beauty!

Really nice truck, but wayyyy out of what I'd spend for it. I truly understand and appreciate its significance and rarity, but for that kind of budget/ expenditure, I'd definitely be looking at something a lot newer and upscale.

When one can borrow money at 1/3 the rate of inflation, money is "free". Literally. A good way to loose everything is to lever-up against your assets, pay bubble prices, then the bubble bursts and your chit isn't worth enough to cover the nut on the leverage. Happens in every bubble. You're not supposed to hold cash in inflationary times. But you ARE supposed to be in cash when it turns deflationary. The guy selling is doing the right thing, he'll be in cash when the market turns. The guy buying is very likely to loose a lot. Possibly everything if he borrows the money on margin to make the purchase.

I was not complaining about the price of the Syclone. I was commenting on the amazing amounts of money people spend on cars there. Further, I seriously doubt the buyer borrowed money to buy it. The truck will, in all likelihood, be added to someone's collection, relaxing in the lap of climate-controlled luxury. I really enjoy looking at the exotic stuff that passes thru that site. Couple days ago a shop in Miami sold a Mercedes 190E 2.3 Evo II for $430k. Now that is a collector car.
