Hello, my name is Chad and I am posting from the greater Salt Lake area in Utah.
I own a 1994 S10 extra cab, 4.3L V6, 5 Speed MT, 2wd painted in forest service green (yes, it is an old forest service truck).
My plan is to swap to an 0411 ECU with speed density, sequential injection intake manifold and a turbo.
I am looking forward to being a member on this forum after several years of lurking.
I am an Electronics Engineer by trade, an a life long mechanic for my hobbies.
Nice, you ever consider doing Megasquirt over a 0411? Way more versatile.

Hey guys. I reside outside of Atlanta. I have an 02 Blazer ZR2 that I bought in 08. I've used this forum several times over the years for information. I thought I had joined it at some point, but apparently not! I posted up in the electrical to ask about some plugs I'm having a hard time identifying. Pulled the dash yesterday for a heater core. Not what I would call a fun job
I already have a few questions I'll search for, or post up in the appropriate forums.

Another Newbie here...
Been lurking for a few months after a recent purchase of an 02 CC 4x4. Lots of plans and looking forward to starting a build thread to gain more knowledge and document progress.

Howdy,

I have been an S10/Sonoma fan since I was about 13 years old. My Dad bought a near new 88 S10 Tahoe 4.3 V6 Long Bed at that time and I thought it was the best vehicle hands down for all occasions, especially date night. I now have a 93 S10 Long Bed 4x4 4.3 v6 5 speed that I am restoring. It is a retired US Forest Service Truck. I dig it and hope you do too.

Hey everyone
Im wheez, just recently got myself a 93 2.8L v6 rwd 5 speed that I want as a daily and to pull a small trailer as i move every 6 months or so. It seems like a good truck, but definitely needs some work.
The guy I bought it from says that the engine was rebuilt 20k miles ago and the rear end was replaced. I want to get it mechanically a
s close to stock as possible for fuel economies sake, and upgrade to be better suited for towing when needed.
Im no mechanic and have never really worked on vehicles aside from some very basic maintenance and repair (filters, fuses, sensors, etc) but I know my way around a toolbox.
I look forward to learning whatever I can from everyone and keeping this thing on the road for another 30 years.

Love it, hope you don't sell it. Otherwise I'll buy it

Uh oh…

Well anyway, Welcome to the Forum! There’s plenty of knowledgeable people here who are more than happy to help you straighten out those issues.

I was surprised to see that it’s a 2.0L, but then what I don’t know about S10’s and Sonoma’s would fill a dozen factory service manuals… literally.

Is it going to be a daily driver or a weekend toy? And are those Corvette wheels?

Does it have the automatic or manual transmission?

I'm planning on it being a daily for the short term, then maybe I'll modify it into something.

They are Corvette wheels. 16" and they required a large spacer to fit. I'm actually looking at replacing them now, they're not quite my style.

It has a 4 speed manual - Isuzu S101 I believe.

Those wheels should be valuable horse-trading items.

What more do you know about the 2.0L engine? All of my experience relates to what I have, which is the 4.3L in my 2nd Gen Sonoma 4WD. I’ve never heard of anything other than the 2.5L Iron Duke in a 1st Gen S10 or S15, but that’s for the US market and I’ll admit that I’m woefully ignorant of what goes on in the rest of the world. Could it be an Isuzu engine? Just curious.

Hello All,

I'm the proud owner of a '98 RCSB with a 6.0 LS swap and will be looking to upgrade it's performance (read that as add considerable boost) whilst maintaining its current drivability and safety. We'll see how well that works...
Anyways, I'll likely be asking some interesting questions along the way and look forwards to learning more along the way!

Brez here. In my late 20's I had an 84 S10 extended cab sbc I had bought from a friend. 350 with a bit of a cam and 50's on the back and had a blast with that truck. I sold it after a couple 4 yrs because I thought it was time to get older and more serious and have some kids. I actually bought a 99 ZR5 for one of my boys with 4wd. Kids are mostly grown up now and Dec 10 a yr ago (my birthday) I was on Kijiji, doing what I like to do. Looking under classic cars and thinking about maybe someday buying a classic. As I scrolled this light blue 91 S10 extended cab caught my eye. Not what I would call a classic by average person standards, but to me owning one similar many yrs ago it was. As it turns out it was bored to 355 and lowered. Ported 186 heads and a holley street dominator intake. 780 Quickfuel VS. Had drag slicks and regular aluminum 16 rims for street. Fuel cell in the box and Nitrous as well. I fell in love with this little truck and had to have it. The guy selling it was hard up for cash as his business suffered the covid money drain that many faced. The engine and tranny were fresh and although not a mint shape truck by any means, at 20' away looked good. Up close the body work wasn't perfect but it served a purpose for the guy who had it and he did what he could afford (Actually more I guess). Anyone building an engine and tranny with performance parts knows stuff adds up quick. Forged crank rods etc, don't come cheap. I paid far less than what he had into it for sure. I paid what he wanted as he needed it to move and needed the cash. 11.47 sec truck as he showed me the slip. Fast enough for a guy like me lol. And now I am here!!
