OK, I've got the "JM5" booster to put in my 2002 pickup . Of course it isn't a "bolt-in" deal (it never is).
The rod length is longer than the one on the booster I removed and the "loop" is smaller diameter.

Is there a way to swap the rods? what do I do to make the combo work?

I searched for some time, but couldn't get a definitive answer. Help?

Thanks...

Is there ANY way to remove the booster rod without damaging the unit?

Yeah, I'm using the "JM5" booster to get a smaller diameter.

My tig-welder guy is unavailable because we are on "lockdown" until ???

Thanks...

In most areas auto repair is exempt from the lock down. Leave it at his door and ask him to do the same.

I'm pretty sure the 2002 can't be taken apart without prying a bunch of tabs out of the way. 95-97 boosters can be twisted after prying one tab out of the way from my experience.

Not sure on the older JM5. And nos sure if they can be swapped either. Internals may be different. Would be a cool thing to try out, but not sure you want to do that with good parts to start with.
