I had a mechanic install a new A/C Compressor in my 1999 S-10 4.3 V6. The system was charged and will work if you jump the relay in the underhood fuse compartment. Air will blow cold. If you put the relay back in place, the compressor will shut off and not engage back on. I have changed the low pressure switch, recharged the system, replaced the wiring at the low pressure switch, but i am not getting anywhere. The mechanic says its a short somewhere electrical, but I am not an expert on electrical issues. If you jump the low pressure switch it will not engage as well.

Anybody have a recommendation?

I swapped the relay out with the horn relay, but no luck. I assume the horn relay is good since the horn works lol.

Try a new mechanic, if the one that did the install can't/ won't correct the deficiency.

Every fuse that pertains to A/c and HVAC, yes.
